The 60th Anniversary of the launch of the Tidy Town’s competition was met with the news that there would be an increase in funding for towns and villages all over the country. Towns and villages in counties Limerick, Tipperary and Longford are among the many counties to receive funding of up to €4,000. This news was delivered in recent weeks by Rural Affairs Minister Michael Ring during the course of the Supervalu Tidy Towns award ceremony for the North West and West region, that took place in Westport, Co Mayo.

This investment totalling €1.4 million in funding for the entire country is set to be distributed between towns and villages who have submitted an application to enter the competition over the last three years.

Funding will range from €1,000 for villages, €2,000 for small towns, €3,000 for large towns and large urban centres are eligible to receive €4,000.
