Black Glass Chippings

Black Glass Chippings are made from 100% post-consumer recycled bottles and jars. Used glassware is collected and then melted down at extremely high temperatures to create a viscous liquid. Dye is then added to the melted glass. It is then allowed to harden once again. When it’s solidified, the glass is crushed into angled chippings and smoothed to eliminate any dangerous, sharp edges. Next, the glass is graded with medium and large pieces separated for bagging and eventual sale.

If you intend to use Black Glass Chippings outdoors or for terrazzo flooring, you can do so without worry. The black colour is not a paint; it is a permanent part of the glass. As a result, the chippings will not release chemicals into the water supply if they become wet, and they will never lose their colour when exposed to moisture or the sun.
